Biography
My name is Cassie Sanders, and I am native of the Tellico Plains area. I felt a calling to teach as a young person, and spent a lot of time teaching Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and participating in youth activities at my church.
After graduating from Tellico Plains High School in 2002, I went on to Tennessee Wesleyan College where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Learning with a K-8 certification in December 2006. I worked at Coker Creek School for a year and a half as an assistant, and I began teaching at Rural Vale School in August 2008.
My Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership was earned from Tennessee Technological University in May 2012. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at Rural Vale, and many of those years have been multi-age classes.
I am now serving Rural Vale School in the role of Assistant Principal. Rural Vale has my heart, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to work at such a wonderful school!
My husband Joshua and I live in the Ballplay community with our son Will, who is a student at Tellico Plains High School. That boy is the light of our lives!
We love all things to do with sports, and spend much of our time at Will’s football and baseball games. When we are not at the ballfield, you can find us camping at Indian Boundary or fishing on the river. We are members of Epperson Church in Coker Creek.
