BIOGRAPHY

I teach first grade. I have always loved learning, and I wanted to inspire young minds to love to learn too. I am currently in my seventh year of teaching. I have taught one year and a half of third grade, one year of kindergarten, five years of first grade, and one year of fourth and fifth grade. I taught my first year and a half at Madisonville Intermediate, but then I took a kindergarten position at Rural Vale, where I have fallen in love with all the teachers, students, parents, and community. It feels like home here. We have a great staff.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education K-6 from Tennessee Wesleyan College (recently changed to the university) in Athens, TN, a Master’s Degree in Administration Leadership Prek-12 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, and I am currently attending Liberty University, where I will receive my Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I’m certified to teach kindergarten through sixth grade in all subjects, and I am certified to be a Prek-12 principal. I love teaching and learning! I hope to instill the same love for learning that I have in all my students.

I have always lived in Monroe County. My husband and I have been friends since intermediate school. We have been married for seven years. We have a six-year-old firecracker daughter and a 3-year-old super energetic little boy.
